I don’t like to party. I don’t like getting drunk or high or staying out so late that I’d be happy asleep on the street. I don’t like spending money on alcohol and cover charges and I don’t like being an object of strange men’s attention and I don’t like walking home when people’s demons are out, and that’s ok.

Because when I live in a city where I can go home to my farm and my woods whenever I want and when NPR shows broadcast live from my school and when professors take me around the world doing amazing research, then I know that my life is just as fulfilling as I want or need it to be.

Ordered the hiking sandals I’ve been itching for (and plan to use the shit out of this summer!), contributed to the Stranger’s Project, and finished one of my final papers! AND its a beautiful day! And it’s May! How can you ever be unhappy when the sun is out.
